The team:
Group Finance is the team at Bauer that is responsible for building the consolidated financial / strategic plans at the group level, analysing performance against those for the Board and Shareholders, and has Finance Business Partnering responsibility for key Group functions.

About the role:
The role is based in Hamburg (when in the office), Reporting to the Group Finance Director, as part of the Group Finance Team. You will be responsible for helping Bauer achieve its short and long term financial objectives through the design and operation of core Group finance process, delivering insightful analysis that drives business action and outcomes, in addition to contributing to the transformation of the Finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Performance Management
  • Build and maintain detailed knowledge and understanding of the businesses across the Bauer Group to enable delivery of meaningful management reporting to the Board, Shareholders and other key stakeholders, that include insight to support decision making.
  • Be a proactive Business Partner to key stakeholders to define needs, understand dependencies, balancing risks and opportunities.
  • Managing and supporting Group Planning Processes (Long Term Strategic Plans, Budgets and in-year Forecasts) – with the focus on Group Functions.  
  • Driving Planning and Analysis initiatives that enhance the link between operational performance of Group Business Partners and financial performance e.g. KPI dashboarding and driver based reporting and forecasting.
  • Supporting Finance activities that sit with Group Finance & Ad hoc Group Financial analysis.

Transformation
  • Opportunity to support the implementation of the new Group wide ERP / EPM system – we are just starting a 4-year implementation programme, acting as key Group stakeholder within the Value Realisation Office.
  • Be a change driver and actively manage strategic Finance Programme related projects
    • Identify and prioritise relevant tracking metrics and appropriate data sources,
    • Ensure that project has tangible success criteria in place prior to go-live,
    • Liaise with Global Process Owners & Stakeholders to ensure that metrics are relevant, timely and measurable,
    • Work with programme leadership team to articulate value in accordance with established KPIs,
    • In case of project changes, provide input to the overall recalculation of value and ensure continuous updates to the related tracking mechanisms.

About you

We are looking for a driven, collaborative and outcome orientated person, who is looking to support Bauer as we establish the building blocks for our next phase of growth, and who wants to progress their career within Finance.

You will be someone that is comfortable working with Senior Execs able to simplify complex issues to get the essence of the story, and a proactive change agent looking to drive better process/ways of working/data and insight as shape the future finance function.

Specific qualities we are looking for:
  • Finance professional, with the relevant professional qualification e.g. BSc or MSc in Finance in Germany.
  • 6-8 years Finance experience (especially Planning, Analysis and Reporting is valued), and previous experience in a Group Finance role is a plus.
  • Previous experience of SAP ERP/EPM implementation would be a plus.
  • Strong Financial, Commercial, and Analytical skills.
  • Open mindset of willingness to learn and drive change, looking to move the finance. function forward through process, reporting and data enhancements.
  • Strong systems and tools experience e.g. MS office, PowerBI, SAP.
  • Good working level of English (verbally and written).
