This is role of Solution Architect is pivotal in shaping the solution around the Bauer landscape for a major projects and programmes.You will contribute to the transformation of the technology landscape that enables Bauer Media Group to develop highly efficient workflows and processes, innovative solutions, while reducing cost across the landscape.You will be embedded within the Architecture team and will be responsible for the implementation of end-to-end solutions.
As a Solution Architect you will be working closely with the Enterprise Architects to ensure the Enterprise perspective is maintained.
There will be the requirement for occasional travel primarily across Europe.
We are primarily looking for support at our location in Hamburg, it would also be possible to support our locations in Warsaw or London.
For this position it is possible to work part time.

Your Tasks
This role is accountable for the end-to-end solution architecture for a number of programmes across Bauer, which include:
- Assessment of the current landscape
- Ensure alignment and creation of Bauer Media principles and standards
- The target design aligned to the business requirements and the sequence to the target design
- Engage customer stakeholders to understand desired business outcomes and define success criteria
- Determine the overall solution design, including data and application integration
- Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable and secure.
- Lead clients through discovery workshops to define and prioritize requirements.
- Develop and present architecture and design options and recommendations.
- Represent the client’s vision to the project team and ensure that the end solution matches that vision.
- Support business development and act as the solution owner
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure solutions are implemented correctly
- Provide scoping, sizing and SOW support
- Develop reusable assets and templates for the practice

Experience:
Desirable
- Finding the best technical solution among all possible to solve the existing business problem
- Describing the structure, characteristics, behaviour, and other aspects of software to project stakeholders.
- Defining features, phases, and solution requirements.
- Providing specifications according to which the solution is defined, managed, and delivered.
- Experience in the role of Solution architecture and in software development
- Technology Architecture qualifications: TOGAF or equivalent experience
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Ability to operate across both waterfall and agile delivery environments
- Successful academic background in computer science or related discipline
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Problem solving skills
Experience:
- Fluent in business and financial implications of architecture choices and alternatives
- Experience of a multinational organisation operating in many territories
- Strong experience in solution design and best practices
- Ability to translate business requirements into functional design
- Knowledge of integration technologies (e.g. ETL Tools) and experience of complex data migrations and integrations.
- Broad knowledge of architecture design patterns and concepts (e.g. Data Warehouses, SOA, Data Governance, MDM, etc.).
Desirable
- Very good in English (must)
- Language skills in German or Polish desirable
- Business domain expertise in Media services industry
